In order to further facilitate the exchange of personnel between China and foreign countries, and to serve the high-quality development and high-level opening-up, China has decided to implement a trial expansion of the unilateral visa exemption policy.

From 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2024, China will implement a unilateral visa exemption policy for ordinary passport holders from six countries: France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia. During this period, individuals from these countries holding ordinary passports who come to China for business, tourism, family visits, or transit for up to 15 days will be exempt from visa requirements. Individuals from the mentioned countries who do not meet the visa exemption criteria must still obtain a visa before entering China.
