Introduction & Highlights

Everyone has a fantasy about "romantic scenery".

And Yunnan, located in the colorful clouds of the south, is where dreams begin. For almost everyone, their longing for Yunnan starts with Dali.

So why not immerse yourself in the gentle moments of Dali, quietly experiencing every inch of the landscape and living a poetic life where clouds come and go? Embark on a journey that falls in love with romantic scenery.

1. Cangshan Mountain

Cangshan Mountain boasts beautiful landscapes, with its main peak covered in magnificent snow, making it one of Dali's famous "romantic scenery" attractions.

But the most breathtaking view of Cangshan Mountain lies on its ridges. The narrow mountain ridges stretch endlessly like knife edges. The cold wind blows from one side while warm sunlight graces the other side of the ridges. Below the ridges lie steep canyons, creating an awe-inspiring sight.

1) Cable Car

Taking a cable car allows you to enjoy views of Erhai Lake under the sun's rays, showcasing its beauty and gentleness. You can also catch sight of Cangshan Mountain's lush greenery that instantly captures your heart.

2) Hiking

Hiking requires approximately one day with a duration of 6-8 hours. It is recommended to start early to ensure sufficient climbing time.

The Jade Belt Road is fantastic for hiking and extends all the way to Qixiannu Pool.

If you want to experience both cable car rides and the beauty of Jade Belt Road, you can take a cable car up the mountain and then hike along Jade Belt Road.

After reaching Ximatan Station, you can either take a cable car to reach the summit or continue along the Road.

2. Erhai Lake

If it's your first time visiting Dali, a trip around Erhai Lake is a must.

.
Like Cangshan Mountain, Erhai Lake is also one of Dali's "romantic scenery" locations. It is shaped like an ear and is a plateau lake formed by the Xi'er River.

Despite being called a sea, Erhai Lake is actually a lake, with three islands, four peninsulas, five lakes, and nine curves. The water in the lake is clear and transparent, earning it the nickname of the "flawless jade among mountains".

1) Leisurely Electric Bicycle Ride around Erhai Lake
If you would like to explore Dali, you can ride an electric bicycle around the lake.
Parking is convenient, and you can easily stop by the lakeside for photos. However, a fully charged electric bicycle can only make it halfway around Erhai Lake under normal circumstances. To complete the entire journey, you must recharge halfway to reach your destination.

2) Cycling around Erhai Lake
Cycling allows you to fully appreciate the beauty of Erhai Lake. The most beautiful cycling routes are the western route from Xilu Road to S Bay and the eastern route from Shuanglang to Wase.
However, compared to electric bicycles, cycling requires two days. It is recommended to cycle from Xilu Road to Shuanglang on the first day and stay overnight in Shuanglang. On the second day, continue cycling from Shuanglang back to the starting point.

3) Self-driving around Erhai Lake
There are two roads that encircle Erhai Lake: West Road and East Road. Both routes have numerous attractions along them.
The total distance for circling Erhai Lake is approximately 140 kilometers. The road conditions are good and there are many scattered attractions along the way. Self-driving allows you to visit all of them.
However, please note that most of the lakeside areas on West Road cannot be driven on; only cycling is allowed.

4) Cruise around Erhai Lake
Cruising on Erhai Lake is one of Dali's most classic ways of sightseeing.  It adds a touch of fairyland charm and showcases Dali's unique features.

Regardless of whether it's spring, summer autumn or winter, taking a cruise at any time allows you to experience different aspects of Dali along this same route.

Apart from romantic scenery like wind-flower-snow-moon landscapes, there are also other scenic sights in Dali that should not be missed
