Co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and the People's Government of Yunnan Province, the 2023 China International Tourism Fair opened at the Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center in Kunming on 17 November.

Themed "Nihao! China," the fair features a total of nine exhibition halls with an exhibition area of 90,000 square metres and 5,000 standard booths. It includes six special exhibition areas: Tourism Destination, Cultural Tourism Enterprise, Cultural and Creative Industry, Digital Cultural Tourism, Tourism Innovation, Yunnan, and Tourism Theme Pavilion. The emphasis is on showcasing global brand tourism resources, the image of tourist destinations, achievements in innovative tourism development, new tourism products, applications of new technologies, and international tourism cooperation results.

Yunnan has the largest exhibition scale at the fair, with more booths than any other province. The Yunnan exhibition area, themed "A Life Called Yunnan," covers an exhibition area of over 20,000 square metres, featuring 80 specially designed booths and 264 standard booths. A total of 16 cultural and tourism bureaus from cities and prefectures within the province, along with 580 domestic and international units, enterprises, and related organizations, are participating.

The fair has invited tourism departments from eight countries, including South Africa, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Nepal, Malaysia, and Laos. Representatives from six organizations, including the United Nations World Tourism Organization, World Tourism Alliance, Asia-Pacific Tourism Association, International Mountain Tourism Alliance, Pacific Tourism Organization, and Shanghai Cooperation Organization, will jointly participate. In total, representatives from 70 countries and regions are participating, with 892 international travel professionals.

The three-day event will include activities such as the opening ceremony, travel trade conference, inbound tourism policy release, Dianchi Dialogue, International Seminar on the Construction of the China-Laos Railway International Cultural Tourism Economic Belt, Puer Special Session, and a total of 17 events.

The China International Tourism Fair alternates between Shanghai and Yunnan and has successfully held 23 sessions to date, playing a crucial role in promoting Chinese cultural tourism resources, enhancing Sino-foreign tourism exchange and cooperation, and fostering people-to-people connectivity.
