Day 1 | Arrival in Shanghai — Airport Pick-up & Hotel Check-in
Nihao! Welcome to Shanghai, a vibrant metropolis where futuristic skyscrapers seamlessly blend with rich historical heritage. Upon your arrival, your guide and driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your carefully selected downtown hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure — whether you choose to relax and recover from your flight or take a leisurely stroll through the city streets, soaking in the energy of Shanghai at your own pace.

Day 2 | Shanghai City Tour — Shanghai Museum · Yu Garden · The Bund · Nanjing Road
Shanghai Museum — Delve into the world of ancient Chinese art at one of the country’s premier museums. With 12 specialised galleries and over 120,000 cultural relics, the museum offers a fascinating journey through China’s artistic history, featuring exquisite collections of bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy and paintings, alongside rotating exhibitions from both China and around the world.
Yu Garden — A masterpiece of Jiangnan-style classical gardens, complete with pavilions, rockeries and koi-filled ponds. Just outside, the lively Yuyuan Market offers traditional crafts and tasty street snacks.

The Bund — Take a leisurely stroll along Shanghai’s iconic waterfront, where you’ll find 52 historic neoclassical buildings, each showcasing a blend of Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance and East-West architectural styles. On the opposite side of the Huangpu River, marvel at the glittering Lujiazui skyline, crowned by the futuristic Oriental Pearl Tower.

Nanjing Road — Known as “China’s No. 1 Commercial Street,” this bustling pedestrian avenue is a shopper’s paradise, lined with upscale malls, heritage architecture and tempting local delicacies. Whether you are window shopping or savoring a traditional snack, Nanjing Road offers a lively snapshot of Shanghai’s dynamic blend of old and new.
Day 3: Shanghai City Tour | Zhujiajiao Ancient Town + Shanghai Tower
Zhujiajiao Ancient Town — Often referred to as “Jiao Li,” this charming water town is the closest of its kind to Shanghai and one of the city's four historical and cultural towns. The town’s scenic waterways, graceful arched bridges and timeless beauty offer a glimpse into the traditional Jiangnan water town life. The Release Bridge, the largest stone arch bridge in the Shanghai area with five elegant spans, stands as the town’s most iconic landmark. While wandering through the cobbled streets, don’t miss the chance to savour a variety of local snacks, each bite a delicious reflection of the town’s rich culinary heritage.

Shanghai Tower — Soaring to an awe-inspiring height of 632 metres in Lujiazui, Pudong, the Shanghai Tower is China’s tallest building and the second tallest skyscraper in the world. Standing tall next to its famous neighbours — the Shanghai World Financial Center and Jin Mao Tower — this architectural wonder is a spiraling symbol of modernity. From the “Top of Shanghai” Observation Deck on the 118th floor, you’ll experience a vertigo-inducing view at 546 meters above the ground. A 360-degree glass-walled panorama offers unparalleled vistas of the city, with landmarks like the Oriental Pearl Tower and the meandering Huangpu River stretching out before you.
Day 4: Fly to Kunming
Enjoy some free time before catching your flight to Kunming. Upon arrival at Kunming Changshui International Airport, your guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. Take in the relaxed, refreshing atmosphere of the City of Eternal Spring, where mild temperatures, gentle sunshine and vibrant flowers are a year-round delight.

If time permits, immerse yourself in the lively ambiance of the Flowers and Birds Market, a fragrant maze brimming with orchids, bonsai, songbirds and handcrafted treasures. With every step, you’ll encounter the vibrant pulse of local life: rich colours, cheerful chatter and timeless charm.
Day 5: Yunnan Karst Wonders – Jiuxiang Caves & Stone Forest
Jiuxiang Caves — Embark on an extraordinary adventure into one of Yunnan’s most awe-inspiring underground realms. Glide along with a 1.5-kilometre boat ride through the subterranean river, where towering limestone walls and illuminated chambers create a surreal atmosphere. The highlight of this journey is the stunning “Male and Female Twin Waterfalls,” where temperature variations create an enchanting mist, adding a magical touch to the scene. These caves are a geological masterpiece, with intricate stalactites and stalagmites that have been naturally sculpted over millions of years, making it an unforgettable experience.

Day 6: Lijiang
After breakfast, we board a high-speed train to Lijiang, a UNESCO World Heritage town and the heart of the Naxi people. Known for its matrilineal culture and rich musical traditions, Lijiang has preserved its unique heritage for centuries.
Lijiang Old Town – Naxi Culture & Traditions
Stroll through the ancient streets of Lijiang Old Town, a living testament to the Naxi people’s vibrant culture. The town’s intricate architecture and charming canals paint a picture of a bygone era, with centuries-old traditions still thriving in every corner.

Mufu Palace Tour – Once the seat of the Mu clan, rulers of Lijiang for over 400 years, this palace offers a fascinating glimpse into the town’s history. Explore the grand courtyards, elegant pavilions and intricate wood carvings that reflect the wealth and influence of the Mu family. Ascend to the top for panoramic views of Lijiang’s iconic tiled rooftops, where the beauty of the town stretches as far as the eye can see.
Naxi Pictograph Workshop – Uncover the secrets of the Dongba script, one of the world’s few remaining living hieroglyphic languages. At Dayan Huaxiang, participate in a hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own Dongba paper lantern, adorned with symbolic characters under the guidance of a skilled Naxi artisan. This unique craft offers a deeper connection to the Naxi people’s rich cultural heritage.
Evening Bonfire Dance at Sifang Street – As night falls, experience the warmth of Naxi tradition in a lively bonfire dance at Sifang Street, where Naxi grandmothers lead the traditional circle dances. Join the locals in this joyful open-air celebration, where the rhythm of music, the joy of movement and the spirit of community come together to create a truly unforgettable cultural experience.
Day 7 : Jade Dragon Snow Mountain & Impression Lijiang
Ganhaizi Sunrise – Capture the golden glow over the snow peaks at dawn. Oxygen bottles and warm clothing are recommended at this high altitude.
Glacier Park Cableway – Ascend to 4,680 metres for sweeping views of the glacier and surrounding peaks. A photographer will be on site to help capture your moment at the summit stone marker.
Blue Moon Valley – Known for its turquoise waters and white limestone terraces. Dress in traditional Tibetan attire and pose with gentle yaks for unique photos.

Impression Lijiang –An open-air performance directed by Zhang Yimou, set against the mountain backdrop.
Day 8:Lijiang-Dali
Take a High-speed train to Dali.
Dali Ancient City –With traditional Bai architecture and vibrant streets. A charming historic town set against the backdrop of Cangshan Mountain. Once the capital of the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms, its grid-pattern streets are lined with Bai-style houses, cafes and craft shops. Stroll leisurely to discover ancient city gates, watch artisans at work and enjoy the slower pace of local life.

Three Pagodas Reflection Park – Perfect mirror views of the pagodas and Cangshan Mountain, best at sunrise or sunset. At the foot of Cangshan Mountain, this tranquil park offers a perfect mirror image of Dali’s iconic Three Pagodas in its still pond. The symmetrical reflection of the pagodas, mountains and sky creates a breathtaking scene, especially at sunrise or sunset, making it a paradise for photographers.

Day 9: Xizhou Ancient Town & Erhai Lake Cruise
Xizhou – Step into the heart of Bai culture in this charming town, where history and tradition come alive. Known for its well-preserved Bai ethnic architecture and vibrant markets, Xizhou offers a glimpse into the region's rich cultural heritage. Wander through streets lined with ornate courtyards and intricately decorated facades, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of the Bai people. Be sure to visit the bustling morning market, where you’ll encounter a colourful array of local produce, spices and handmade crafts — offering a lively atmosphere and a true taste of local life.

Zhoucheng Village – Continue your journey to Zhoucheng, the largest Bai village, renowned for its centuries-old tie-dye tradition, a technique that has been recognised as a national intangible cultural heritage. Visit local workshops and discover the intricate process behind this ancient art form. You’ll even have the opportunity to create your own tie-dye masterpiece, a perfect keepsake from your time in this cultural heartland.

Erhai Lake Cruise – Set sail across the crystal-clear waters of Erhai Lake, surrounded by towering snow-capped mountains. This stunning, ear-shaped highland lake is a haven for photographers and nature enthusiasts, with its ever-changing light and tranquil beauty. Glide over the serene waters as the landscape transforms before your eyes, offering unforgettable views of one of China’s most picturesque natural wonders.
Day 10: Dali to Tengchong
After a leisurely morning stroll in Dali, enjoy some free time before boarding your vehicle for the journey to Tengchong.

Upon arrival and hotel check-in, head out to explore the Volcano & Geothermal National Geological Park (approximately 30 minutes by car). Known for its 97 volcanic craters, Tengchong is one of the best places to discover dramatic volcanic landscapes. The park offers incredible views of volcanic formations, and if you’re up for a unique experience, you can even take a hot air balloon ride for a bird’s-eye view of the volcanic wonders below.
Day 11: Tengchong
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive of about 40 kilometres from Tengchong to Gudong Town, home to the stunning Ginkgo Village. The best time to visit is from mid-November to early December, when the ginkgo trees are at their most vibrant. In the deep autumn of Ginkgo Village, you’ll be greeted by over a hundred ginkgo trees, some more than a century old, standing proudly in every corner of the village. The houses are scattered gracefully around the open spaces, with ginkgo trees dotting the front yards and alleys. The scene feels like “a golden carpet” underfoot. The village is nestled within the forest and the forest gently cradles the village, creating a harmonious and picturesque landscape.

In the afternoon, head to Heshun Ancient Town, a quiet town in Yunnan with over 600 years of history. National Geographic has named it one of the “must-visit ancient towns” of a lifetime. Without the bustling commercial distractions, this town exudes a peaceful and authentic atmosphere. The locals follow the rhythm of nature, waking at dawn and resting at sunset, living at a slow and serene pace. The streets and alleys are filled with the essence of daily life. Every stone path and ancient building seems to tell its own story, transporting you to a simpler, more beautiful time.

Day 12: Tengchong
After breakfast, travel to Mashan Village in Sanjian Village, also known as Mashan Bowl Kiln. This village has been producing traditional clay pottery for over 570 years. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to try your hand at creating your own pottery, connecting with an ancient craft that has been passed down through generations.
Next, visit Rongyang Village to experience the ancient art of making oil-paper umbrellas, an intangible cultural heritage that has been preserved in this remote village for nine generations. These beautiful umbrellas are crafted with great care, and their artistry has evolved over time, blending practicality with rich cultural significance. Join a skilled artisan to learn the delicate process of making these umbrellas and immerse yourself in a tradition that dates back over 300 years.

Day 13: Tengchong
After breakfast, embark on a forest hike in Gaoligong Mountain, following the Qingyanzi Trail. This immersive experience takes you deep into the wilderness, as you trek through volcanic secret roads, enjoying the breathtaking views of Lisu terraced fields along the way. Upon reaching the hiking point, you’ll explore ancient forests, marvel at hidden waterfalls and enjoy a rustic lunch in the wild, surrounded by nature’s beauty. The adventure continues with a visit to the Wild Boar Ridge Bridge before returning to your hotel.

In the afternoon, take a scenic drive back to Dali and catch your flight back to your cozy home, filled with memories of this unforgettable journey.
