January
Jindian: Camellia
Camellia is the city flower of Kunming. At the end of winter and early spring, the camellia starts blooming while other flowers are still dormant and the leaves of trees are falling. The best place to see camellia is Jindian. As an international tea garden, most of the camellia are already blooming. The most beautiful one is the famous "Dian Qian Hong," planted in the central location of Jindian Ancient Cultural Relics Area, with large red flowers catching people’s eyes.

Black Dragon Pool: Plum blossom
Time for plum blossoms! In January, you can enjoy the balmy scent of plum blossoms in the Black Dragon Pool Park, with the Chimonanthus praecox in the flowering period. The rare grand view of "blooming of two kinds of plums" appears in the park.

Tanhua Temple: Magnolia
One hundred magnolia trees in Tanhua Temple Park usher in the flower-blossoming period. In a green field, white magnolias are blossoming gracefully on the branches, delicate petals are white and crystal just as being purified in the snow.

Western Hill Magnolia Garden: Magnolia
Magnolia flowers in the Western Hill Magnolia Garden always add a touch of elegance to the gorgeous Western Hill Park. The fragrance is faint, wandering in and refreshing the air around you.

Laoyuhe Wetland Park: Tulip
Millions of tulips in Laoyuhe Wetland Park are blossoming. It is definitely a sight to behold. Flowers of different colours are arranged in various patterns. The colours are mixed with each other in a harmonious way, showing a gorgeous display of petals and green leaves. It’s extremely charming.

Yuantongshan Park: Cherry Blossom
"Yuantong Cherry Tide" is the most popular scenery in Kunming. Once the spring breeze blows in March, the whole Yuantong Mountain turns pink. Pink flowers and cute animals gather to ignite the romance of your maiden heart.

Jiaoye Park: Peach Flower
Jiaoye Park is the second largest ornamental peach flower garden in China. There are 26 varieties and tens of thousands of peach blossoms in the park. The earliest peach blossoms in spring are the reddest Amygdalus persica L. var. densa Makino.

Yunnan University: Begonia
Begonias create a beautiful scenery at Yunnan University in March. Pink flowers are everywhere in the quaint campus. Petals fall from the trees in time with a spring breeze. It’s so romantic.

Chenggong Wanxichong: Pear Blossom
Ten thousand pear trees are covered with flowers, showing a snow white world. The sea of flowers is intoxicating. Come here to enjoy the greatest spring.

Anning Tanglangchuan: Rape Flower
Rape blossoms are a must for Golden Tanglangchuan. It’s a great place to visit, especially if you can’t make it to Luoping. A sea of golden flowers will please your eyes.

Jiaozi Snow Mountain: Azalea
“Jiaozi” means sedan in the Chinese language. Between late summer and early spring, azalea of different colours blossom over the mountain. The whole mountain becomes the real “flower” sedan.
